Rapper Lil Durk states he is taking some time off to recover after being injured by a pyrotechnic at the Lollapalooza event in Chicago.

When a smoke bomb went off in his face on Saturday night, the 29-year-old was playing to a crowd of thousands.

In fan-captured video, he was seen staggering backwards from the tool and also cleaning his eyes with a tee shirt.

Although he ended up the efficiency, Lil Durk later uploaded a picture from healthcare facility with a spot over one eye.

" Due to the case that happened at Lollapalooza in Chicago on stage, I' ma relax & concentrate on my health and wellness," he captioned the picture on Instagram.

Lil Durk has more than 20 United States trip dates set up prior to the end of the year. It is not yet clear the amount of of those shows will be impacted.
